So here it is, the very first entry in this years' diary. All remains pretty static in the garden so far, though the Marsh marigold is beginning to sprout new leaves. We've had a very mild winter up to now, but that looks set to change as the forcast predicts severe weather for a while. Today Suesie and I did the RSPB garden bird watch. Our garden has a boisterous band of jackdaws that regually hog the table, yet they always seem to dissapear for a while allowing the smaller and more tentative birds to sneak in quick. So within the given hour we also saw blackbirds, bluetits, great tits, a pair of gorgeous collared doves, herring gulls and a pair of robins too. Sometimes long tailed tits forage in the trees at the end of the garden. Hopefully we can entice them down to the feeders before too long.
